Air France Propeller - Aeroplanes Greeting Card
BLANK INSIDE
"In all skies" notebook for all writers! We love this stylish 1949 Air France poster—the artist cleverly included their winged seahorse logo in the movement of the propeller. The hippocampe ailé, as it's called in French, is a mythical creature with the upper body of a horse and the lower body of a fish.
The credit on this poster art reads "Atelier Perceval," initially leading us to believe it was an individual's name. However, upon further investigation, we discovered that it actually refers to the Perceval workshop in Paris, which specialized in airline and travel illustrations during the 1940s. The exact nature of the workshop's composition, whether it involved multiple artists or a single artist, remains unclear.
We also have this image as an art print AND as a notebook!
