RUMU (RUMJHUM) SARKAR
Rumjhum Sarkar is an award-winning author of law books but has always been
fascinated by children's literature. She grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana, and now lives and works in Washington D.C. She may be reached at rsarkar@netzero.net, so please reach out to her to invite her for book signings or book fairs.
“Bundharam Kundharam” is her first collection of children's stories. Bundharam Kundharam introduces the title character, a charming, witty grandfatherly figure who is able to speak with animals, flowers, and puppets and resolve their problems. His adventures take him, and the reader, to exotic rain forests, royal palaces, Morocco, Spain, Indonesia, and beyond. Come join the fun!

The cover illustration is entitled Merveilleuse (1981) and was painted by Sakti Burman who was born in Calcutta, India in 1935. He studied art in Paris, and divides his time between Paris and New Delhi, India. Mr. Burman exhibits
internationally and is a renowned painter, sculptor, and lithographer. He creates
dreamscapes based on Hindu and other mythology, and from his own imagination. He lives in Paris with his wife Maïté Delteil, and his daughter, Maya Burman, who are both talented artists in their own right.
