We are excited to introduce our newest favorite book for beginning French students: Georgette Has a Cold, Adventures in Avignon! Written and illustrated by local author and Middle School French teacher Leigh Rauseo, Georgette is a young girl who lives in Avignon, France. She has plans to venture into Provence with her Maman for the day when she comes down with a terrible cold. The story touches on the theme of love, patience, and resilience.
Georgette Has A Cold gives a description of the food, signature attractions, and scenery of Avignon. French language is peppered throughout the story with English translations. Beginners are sure to learn new French words while reading about Georgette’s journey through one of France’s most beautiful cities.
